So what does non-binary mean? A non-binary person is someone who's gender does not fit within the male and female binary. A non-binary person could be transgender, intergender (a gender identity in-between male and female), androgynous (both a masculine and feminine gender identity), agender (a neutral gender identity), bi/pangender (multiple genders) and more.

When speaking to someone who identifys as non-binary it's always best to ask them which pronoun they feel most comfortable with. The gender-neutral pronoun 'they/them' is most often used.
